Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

At First Baptist, our core value of biblical foundation states that “we teach and learn God’s Word, and we choose to make all decisions based on its guidance, strength, and truth.” The adult ministries of First Baptist seek simply to lead people to be more like Christ every day. The goals of this ministry echo the words of Paul in Ephesians 4:12-13, as he speaks of “equipping God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Many education opportunities are provided for adults.

We encourage each adult in our church to be a part of a Sunday morning Bible study group. These classes not only seek to deepen individual’s spiritual foundations, they are also excellent fellowship groups and provide great points of entry into the fellowship of our church. Thus, through these classes an emphasis is placed on growing warmer through fellowship, deeper through the study of God’s Word and discipleship, and more missional through the ministry opportunities that each of these classes provide to their membership.

Ongoing Wednesday night studies, Sunday evening study series, recreational activities, and other discipleship ministry events are also offered to adult men and women throughout the year.
