Together in Christ, Sharing His Love

Local Missions Partnerships

An obvious statement must be made as we think of local missions at First Baptist Dalton:

“You do not have to go around the world to do missions.”

At First, we believe that our mission efforts begin the moment each Sunday when we exit the doors of our church. It does not have to be on a large scale with hoopla and fanfare, in fact, just the opposite is the way that Christ shared His hands and heart. Small things, like helping an elderly neighbor, watching a young mother’s baby while she interviews for a much needed job, cooking and delivering a meal for a family who grieves the loss of a loved one, sharing an “Aha” moment with an elementary school student to whom you give your time each week . . . small things, but with world and life-changing consequences. World-changing because they change people, and it is only through people that the world will be changed.

At First Baptist, we understand the importance of building community and authentic relationships, one event at a time, events that make not make the local newspaper or “World News Tonight,” but small things that do change our world in a very special way.

To the right of this page, you will get only a small sampling of some of the local missions efforts that are undertaken by the members of First Baptist Church—all with a goal in mind of creating authentic relationships with those around us so that they might see clearly through us the “Light” of Jesus Christ!
